Hunter Valley FAQ's

Our Hunter Valley wine tours have been awarded Best Tour in the Hunter Valley four times, thanks to our focus on small boutique wineries rather than the big commercial cellar doors. With guides who’ve tasted at over 80 wineries in the region, you get genuine local knowledge and a more personal, curated day than a standard large-group coach tour.

Prices for the full-day Hunter Valley wine tour start from $249 AUD per person for a 10-hour experience, including wine tastings, guided commentary and a stop for lunch. Groups are capped at 14 people, keeping the day intimate rather than a big bus crowd.

Yes, our Hunter Valley wine tasting tours are limited to a maximum of 14 people, travelling in a comfortable vehicle with full-height reclining seats, air-conditioning and a small fridge for your purchases. The smaller group size means more personal attention from your guide and a more relaxed pace between wineries.

Our guides have visited more than 80 different wineries across the Hunter Valley, and we concentrate mainly on small boutique cellar doors rather than the big commercial names. The exact wineries can vary by day, and if you have preferences you can let us know at booking so we can try to accommodate your group.

The Hunter Valley is roughly a two-hour drive north of Sydney, which is why the wine tasting tour runs as a full 10-hour day. This gives you enough time on the road plus a proper amount of time at each winery, rather than rushing between cellar doors.

The tour price covers return transport from Sydney, an experienced guide, wine tastings at boutique cellar doors, and a cafe-style lunch (typically at Cypress Lakes Resort) with hot and cold options plus a glass of wine or soft drink included.

Absolutely — non-drinkers are very welcome, and many guests join simply to enjoy the scenery, lunch and cellar door atmosphere without tasting. Since our guide handles the driving, everyone in your group gets to relax for the day regardless of whether they’re drinking. (Worth confirming this is your actual policy before publishing, since the page doesn’t state it explicitly.)

Casual, comfortable clothing is best, along with a hat and sunscreen for the warmer months since some wineries involve short walks outdoors between the cellar door and vineyard. Layers are a good idea in cooler months, as the Hunter Valley can be noticeably cooler than Sydney in winter. (This is a reasonable general answer, but flag if you’d like something more tailored to actual guest feedback.)

Yes, when you book your wine tour Hunter Valley experience with us, just let us know about any dietary requirements in advance and we’ll do our best to accommodate them at the lunch venue.

Our Hunter Valley tours are capped at 14 people and popular dates can fill up, so we’d recommend booking at least 1–2 weeks ahead where possible, especially for weekends. (Please confirm actual typical booking lead time)
